The bad eye also means she may find it more difficult to find food, and has a much higher chance of predation (we had a one-eyed blackbird a few years ago. It was easy to creep up on it from its blind side).<br /><br />I'm always amazed by the size of caterpillars that a chick can swallow. They never seem to choke on anything.
